(Fingers crossed that the extra prizes do not multiply the number of repeat/passwordless/bad posts by the same proportion ......)

I just paid to extend my account another 3 months and i am getting jerked around. Their saying i have downloaded 25 GiG of stuff and that is pure bullshit. Now i can't download anything. Even if i did download that much, a premium member has no limit. AM I CORRECT. Someone better do something or i'm outta here for good and i've been a premium member for almost 3 years. I Garantee i haven't download that much because i've been in the hospital for the last 6 days recovering from neck surgery.

As for the 25GB thing, buff .... a PREM member can download a max of 25GB in a 5 day period ... after that it starts to rotate droping why you DL'd on day 1 as this would be the start of another 5 day stretch.

You say the hosting company lost your posts?? why didnt you keep a backup? its only a simple blog and a full sql backup is easy so you really shouldnt be blaming anyone apart from yourself for the loss of posts

Ah! Bongo, now we have a problem: the peas were only PART cooked, as the chef foolishly used one of the clay pots that SpaceGoat referred to - which had not been properly fired and therefore was not fully vitrified, causing it to crack and leak. Now had the pea cooker been born 5000 years later and used a metal pot (allowing faster cooking) the peas would have been fully cooked and I could have given you a more comprehensive answer.

I quite pissed off about it. this sucks big time. there were lot of posts I hadn't the chance to download (games, movies) and now they've gone forever.

I'm having a hard time believing the hosting lost the posts, I mean data is what it's all about; it's like putting money in the bank and they lose it, I don't think so. looks more like spring clean to me. new host my ass!

Now to the common sense bit. If iNet were having a "spring clean", it would be logical to clear out the old stuff, Yes? So why did that not happen?

Personally I am amazed that "all the eggs were in one basket" (or two, as Toni says) and the data was lost. For myself, I always keep hard back-ups at a different location, to protect me from fire, tornado or whatever. However, on this occasion that was not the case, and there are many iNet bloggers who deserve to be "pissed off" (as you put it) having lost all their uploads. True, they can (and some are) uploading again, but it is hard work.

So spare a thought for those who can be justifyably pissed off, and don't bitch that you missed downloading a post because you were too lazy/buzy/tired to do it when the post was new!

check out acronis and set it to do scheduled updates and put a backup at diff location.

sad we lost so many posts and props to the uploaders for reposting and being patient.

It's not good enough that a high profile site like this got it's data nuked, and you are entitled to have a say about that, at the admins personal post, whether you're a poster with nuked upload efforts or a visiting leecher with an annoyed POV about it.

Whether the server went south, or this was a cheap way to upgrade to the same size server, we can only take it on faith.

Either way, the backup procedure (read: lack of) was contrary to all standard serving etiquette, and posters and leechers (who are sort of important to this site!) have a right to BIATCH to the management,

that should have been on deck to begin with, instead of running a free floating unnattended leaking oil tanker on the high seas.
