I use AVG 8.0..., and it's flagging some keygens for programs I'd really like to try out. I'm wondering if it might actually be okay to turn off the 'shield' for certain of these keygens.
For example, AVG detects: Trojan horse SHeur.BJMT Allow it, or not allow it, that's the question. Please share some of your expertise. Thanks, Nicholas

If it is from a trusted site then I have used them and they work fine. However, if it is from a site that you are not sure of, then ,you run the risk that there will be an issue. It is all part of the "getting the program for free''
That is all part of the game.
Try running them in a "Sandbox" using an application like Sandboxie.
Info here: www.sandboxie.com/
Also you could visit: [ link ] to get an idea of which crack writers are respected and will probably be safe to use.
I hope this helps.
Most Keygens use 'reverse engineering' so show up as Trojans - try em and see. Worse case scenario is 'reformat'. :)
avg has too many false positives, i changed to avast free , most of cracks
and keygens now pass with no problems
look for shadow defender, its much better than sandboxie
