Good keygens going to waste??

I use AVG 8.0..., and it's flagging some keygens for programs I'd really like to try out.  I'm wondering if it might actually be okay to turn off the 'shield' for certain of these keygens.

With Rapidshare's new sillyness it's taking ten minutes to put in the stupid codes and to get them right.

Please offer some advice on keygens, cracks, etc.

In general what does one do when an anti-virus program -- Norton, AVG, etc. -- says that a keygen, crack, patch contains a virus, trojan, worm, backdoor thingie, etc.?  Do you allow the anti-virus' to delete?

Advice on Keygens, Cracks, Patches, etc.....

Anyone with knowledge, please advise.

In general what does one do when an anti-virus program -- Norton, AVG, etc. -- says that a keygen, crack, patch contains a virus, trojan, worm, backdoor thingie, etc.?  Do you follow the anti-virus' advice to simply delete?

Under what circumstances would you go ahead and double-click on such a downloaded program?

I remember someone here saying that if they let the anti-virus programs have their way, every single keygen, etc., on their hard disks would be deleted.

Comments greatly appreciated.  I'd imagine that others would benefit from some sage recommendations as well.

Thanks,
Nicholas

HELP..... WinKill by Blizzard struck my system

WinKill by Blizzard somehow got one of my systems.  Pretty much nuked Windows.

Any advice in getting things up and running again, without having to reinstall the hundreds of programs on there?

I have the original Windows XP Pro CD, however it won't let me reinstall over top of present service release installed (SP2, I think).

Thanks for input and help.

Nicholas

I could have sworn I saw an entry for Corel WordPerfect Office X3 here.  Search says no such luck.
