these programs dont speed up anything, just hidden adware
If you have your security set up right, nothing is hidden and all is revealed. If you are on this site, you should be savvy enough to know how to protect yourself. If you are a NOOB, this is the deep end of the pool...so...maybe you will feel a bit safer in the shallow end where you don't have to swim with the sharks. Please note the fins above the water line.
It is not actually a truckload of adware. It just likes to mess up the winsock catalog. That's not a problem, you just reset it and you're back in business. No big deal. It doesn't do what it promises on Vista, but who gives a rat's patootie. This is just a fun intellectual diversion for some of us.
