Bản Giốc Waterfall on the Quy Xuan River is located in the Trung Khanh district in Cao Bang Province, 272 km north of Hanoi, a province in the Northeast of Vietnam that borders with China.
The waterfall falls thirty meters. It is separated into three falls by rocks and trees, and the thundering effect of the water hitting the cliffs can be heard from afar.Ban Gioc is the probably the most beautiful and imposing waterfall in Vietnam. It is situated in Dam Thuy Commune, Trung Khanh district, near the Sino-Vietnamese border, about 85km from Cao Bang and it takes 4 hours by car to go there. The waterfall has three levels, creating a giant staircase. Water flowing from the Quy Xuan river cascades over the rocks produce water droplet columns that can be seen in the distance. In the middle of the fall is a rock landing covered by trees that divides the stream into three currents and creates a thin mist that cools down the temperature. The water volume varies considerably between the dry and rainy seasons - the falls are most impressive from May to September.
