An animated film based on her best-selling autobiographical memoir, Marjane Satrapi comes of age during the Islamic Revolution of the '70s in Iran. Confused by the new restrictions on her freedom, Marjane finds ways to rebel against the new social order. As she gets older and even more rebelious, Marjane's parents have to make the uncomfortable decision to send their daughter to boarding school in Austria where she struggles to fit in.

We're talking West Texas here, not far from the U.S.-Mexican border. The landscape is as bleak as the moon's dark side and its relatively few inhabitants lead lives that are scrubbed down to the basics. That is to say, it is pretty much kill or be killed in the Coen brothers adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's spare and unsparing novel.

Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999) is an unauthorized made-for-television docudrama written and directed by Martyn Burke. Based on the book Fire in the Valley: The Making of The Personal Computer by Paul Freiberger and Michael Swaine, this film documents the rise of the home computer (personal computer) through the rivalry between Apple Computer (Apple II and the Apple Macintosh) and Microsoft (MITS Altair, MS-DOS, IBM PC, and Windows).

The central story of the film begins in the early 1970s and ends with a birthday toast in 1985 to Steve Jobs shortly before he was fired by CEO John Sculley from Apple Computer.

Captured and enslaved along the outer fringes of the Roman empire, Maximus rises through the ranks of the gladiatorial arena to avenge the murder of his family and his Emperor.

While the three search for the parents, uncanny luck results in their meeting other people while their adventures with the baby continue. Will the baby lead these three protagonists to their destiny? This small adventure lets each of the trio confront their own lives, which they almost threw away, while maintaining their dignity and happiness under unfortunate circumstances.

The Getaway (1972)

Carter "Doc" McCoy (McQueen), an incarcerated mastermind criminal, is suffering from the isolation of prison life in Texas. After being denied parole, he sends his wife Carol (McGraw) to make a deal with Jack Benyon (Johnson), a corrupt local businessman. Benyon has Doc paroled on the condition that he take part in a bank robbery with two of his minions, Rudy (Al Lettieri) and Frank (Bo Hopkins). During the robbery, a guard is killed and Rudy attempts to doublecross the group, killing Frank and drawing a gun on Doc, but Doc beats him to the draw and shoots him several times.

The IT Crowd - S1

 

Moss and Roy, the two technicians, are portrayed as socially inept geeks or "standard nerds". Despite the company's utter dependence on their services, they are despised by the rest of the staff. Roy's exasperation is reflected in his support techniques of ignoring the phone in the hope it will stop ringing, and using reel-to-reel tape recordings of stock IT suggestions ("Have you tried turning it off and on again?" and "Are you sure it's plugged in?"). Moss's wide and intricate knowledge of all things technical is reflected in his extremely accurate yet utterly indecipherable suggestions, while demonstrating a complete inability to deal with practical problems like extinguishing fires and removing spiders, as well as his being socially inept.
