Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull (2008) CAM-XviD

Don't read the reviews - Don't listen to the critics - If you're a fan of the Indiana Jones series, then you will absolutely love this movie. It's cam quality, which means it isn't the greatest quality, so you've been warned - but some advantages: it's watchable, it's listenable and there are no irritating interruptions (like the camera being covered over because an usher walked by.) But if you're like me and you just can't get to a moviehouse to see this, you will appreciate it.

This is a really fun movie with lots of references to the past three films - you'll know them when you see them. And the writers have done a great job with the script and timeline - the last Indy movie was 20 years ago, thus, this one is some 20 odd years ahead from the last movie. The adventure is what brings the characters together and Dr. Jones has far bigger issues than trying to keep the crystal skull out of the commies grasp, namely "family" - And the Cate Blanchett character is lifted right out of the Disney villain handbook - an absolute evil witch who will stop at nothing to please her comrades. Just enjoy the movie and lose yourself for a couple of hours...

David Crystal “Language Death"
Cambridge University Press | 2000-06-26 | ISBN: 0521653215 | 208 pages | PDF | 1,2 Mb

The rapid endangerment and death of many minority languages across the world is a matter of widespread concern, not only among linguists and anthropologists but among all concerned with issues of cultural identity in an increasingly globalized culture. A leading commentator and popular writer on language issues, David Crystal asks the fundamental question, Why is language death so important?, reviews the reasons for the current crisis, and investigates what is being done to reduce its impact. The book contains not only intelligent argument, but moving descriptions of the decline and demise of particular languages, and practical advice for anyone interested in pursuing the subject further.
